A concert event to benefit Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women featuring original songs and testimony from women at one of North Carolina's prisons. Donations made at the concert will be used to further the work of helping incarcerated women prepare themselves spiritually, emotionally, psychologically and practically to establish successful new lives once they are released.

About the Musicians/Teachers:
Singer-songwriter Sus Long met bass and banjo player Michael Conner in 2013 while attending Duke Divinity School and they kept talking because they liked the same books. The two started meeting up to play Ramones covers and bluegrass standards, eventually forming a songwriting partnership that draws on folk and jazz, country and blues, blending the best of two very different musical tastes.
Two working pastors, Long and Conner are often in conversation about faith and grace, love and grief, and the threads that hold all things together. Formed by novels and poems, morning news, late-night theology, and the stories of the people around them, their music has taken them from festival stages to prison chapels as they explore the work of the modern psalmist. Last summer, in collaboration with Interfaith Prison Ministry for Women, Long and Conner received a Vital Worship Grant from the Calvin Worship Institute to teach songwriting at the women’s prison in Raleigh, NC. The songs from that class are now making their world-premier in an 8-night concert series in North Carolina’s Triangle and Triad regions.
They are also members of the Durham-based rock band, Hardworker, whose debut album is due in July 2017. Their EP, The Awful Rowing, is available on iTunes and Spotify.

Joe Sanchez is a graduate of Duke Divinity School and is the current Worship Leader at both The Peak Church in Apex and Pittsboro United Methodist Church.
